Spring Dream

$768.00

I see portals everywhere I go. This doorway appeared in New Denver at the water’s edge of Slocan Lake. While a hawk screamed at me from its unseen aerie, and I pondered how quickly the water is rising. Right around that edge on right is a large Creek and it's freshet. mindful to step gently, I crouch down and capture photos to later translate in the studio. This is unceded Sinixt territory and I feel immense gratitude to walk here. This doorway leads to ancient places, and smells like spring. nothing so lame as flowers, no. This is a vibrant smell of decay and growth in the chaos. My fingers touch the smooth trunk of the fallen tree. Noting that its neighbours are still rough with bark that the lake hasn't yet devoured.

16 inches diameter tondo.
