Breach

$1,200.00

What can I say? I love the ocean and all its life. That includes predators in really big ways. When a shark was repeatedly requested for oceans month at The Opal Door, I was eager to get going!

I've never seen a shark breach before and I'm pretty smitten with the original photo. My thanks to the photographer, this is a Getty image in collaboration with Unsplash. One of the perks of membership is painting anything on their site.

I used my paintbrush to drip all those lovely splashes and sprays. Dipping my brush into dribbly colours and then flinging it hard towards the canvas. I left drips showing on the sides, it felt so organic to grow the water drops and loops.

50.8cm or 20” diameter Tondo (round)

I had a great time! 🥰
